• Who are Dynamic Discos?

    Dynamic Discos are not an agency and we do not contract work out to other DJ's. We believe in providing a personal service and you will get the chance to speak directly with your DJ and co-ordinator, Jane Turner, when you make an enquiry or discuss your function. We also have our own technician, Jonathan Heard, who manages the maintenance and electrical safety inspections of our equipment.   • What experience do you have?

    Dynamic Discos was established in 1998 by Jane Turner, and has since been entertaining adults and children alike with music from the last seven decades, including all the latest chart music, party classics and action songs. After DJ'ing regularly for youth clubs and children's parties, Jane went on to become a resident DJ at Rollercity, Welwyn Garden City. With over 7 years experience, we provide a professional, friendly and reliable service for all your requirements. References are available on request.

  • How Much do you charge?

    Our prices vary depending on the event and travelling distance. We try to keep our prices as low as possible and believe in providing a high quality service at an affordable price. We don't charge more for functions that run past midnight and we offer reduced prices for childrens discos. Please visit our online price guide for some examples of prices.

  • Is there an extra charge for the setting up and clearing down time?

    The price you pay is the cost for our playing time we don't add an extra fee for setting up and packing away. We do require at least 30 minutes setting up time prior to the function and 30 minutes for packing away. Wedding functions are the only exception where we prefer to set up earlier.

  • What type of functions do you cater for?

    Dynamic Discos can provide a mobile disco for any occasion you want. We specialise in childrens and school discos, where we provide games, dancing, limbo and other competitions. We also cater for adults parties, weddings, engagements, corporate functions and many others providing both discos and background music. We can work alongside other entertainers such as bands and magicians etc.

  • What music do you play?

    At Dynamic Discos we have a huge selection of music ranging from 40's right through to the modern day chart hits. The music will be varied throughout the function according to the crowd and requests. Remember, if you want a particular style of music or are a fan of a particular band or group please let us know in advance so we can ensure we have the music that you want. We try to play as many of your requests as we can and will keep the volume to the level you want. We generally don't play heavy metal, techno, garage and other specialised styles but we can recommend other DJ's who do.

  • Will you extend your playing time for longer than the original booking?

    Where possible, clients requests for extended playing time will be accommadated and charged at our standard rates.

  • What equipment do you use and do you carry backups?

    We use CDs as our main source of music along with professional Pioneer CDJ100s CD Players and a Pioneer DJM300 mixer. All of our roadshows consist of a full sound and light show with overhead lighting, light screens, smoke machine and sound system suited to the venue and number of guests. We use a UHF Radio Microphone which gives the DJ the freedom to walk away from the booth to interact with children or assist with speeches. We carry backups and spares of all our essential components, so if we do experience a technical failure we can carry on with little interuption.   • How big is your standard Setup?

    We currently use a single 'Goal-Post' rig which is 2 metres wide and 2.5 metres tall. Ideally we require a space which is 3 metres wide and has a high ceiling (at least 2.5m). If necessary, we can scale down either by using regular tables if our width is a problem, or a seperate 'T-Bar' for our lights if the ceiling is low. We must have advance warning if you require a non-standard setup!

  • Do you require a deposit?

    We ask for a £25 deposit for for all bookings. If you decide to go ahead and book with us we will send you a booking confirmation containing all the details about your function along with a copy of our terms and conditions to sign and return along with a deposit.

  • Do you have Public Liability Insurance (PLI)?

    Dymanic Discos are covered by £1 million Public Liability Insurance and can show you our certificate if requested.

  • Why are Weddings more expensive than other discos?

    At Dynamic Discos, we will arrange to visit you before your wedding so you can meet us in person and discuss your requirements. We bring more equipment to wedding functions which frequently requires the use of two cars (or a hired van). Therefore our Wedding prices include extra travelling costs and a small charge for the extra preparation time we will need. If you require our services for longer than 5 hours, we may be able to offer a better price than our website currently provides.
